The Bible. The good news, plainly.
Bring your Bible. Bring your questions. There's room to begin here.
One God, the Father, and one Lord, Jesus Christ: the good news Scripture states plainly. Read it in context, and test every word in your own Bible.

What we confess
To us there is “one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we live through him.” (1 Corinthians 8:6). Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of God” (John 20:31), who “has come in the flesh” (1 John 4:2). He “died for our sins according to the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3), was buried, and “was raised on the third day” (1 Corinthians 15:4). “God has made him both Lord and Christ” (Acts 2:36), and “This Jesus, who was received up from you into the sky, will come back” (Acts 1:11).

The story behind Open the Text
A place to rebuild, with Scripture open.
“I left an organization. I did not leave the Creator, and I did not leave Jesus.”
Open the Text grew from a personal journey out of Jehovah's Witnesses and a desire to build a faith that could be tested in the Bible. That same invitation is open to you: bring your questions and check the work for yourself.
How we study
The text carries the weight.
- Read in context.
Begin with the passage, its setting, and the people being addressed. - Follow the connections.
Trace the story through Scripture, keeping each promise in its context. - Keep testing the claims.
Distinguish what the text says from what we infer, and be honest about what remains uncertain.
